Good XP/Vista Optimizers?

I’ve been working on computers for a while now, just small stuff, anti virus, tweaks, general maintenance for friends and people i meet. Through this, i’ve started a small list of programs and reg tweaks i like, but i know there is a lot more. I’m just wondering if anyone has any suggestions to what they use or like. I put a quick list of things i use together, they include the following:

AVG anti virus
Spybot S&D
Regscrub
Defraggler
Autostart
TuneXP
TweakUI
Revo Uninstaller
Sys Properties>Performance>Visual Effects
Comodo Firewall
HiJackThis free
The built in "disk clean" option under My Computer
Random Group of Registry tweaks I kinda put together

Any advice is appreciated. They can be programs or reg tweaks. I prefer freeware, but i am willing to pay if they are really good.

Thanks

ok heres the problem :
- i used bitdefender antivirus trial version a few years ago a deleted it…. now when i downloaded the latest trial version.. bitdefender seems to know that i’ve already used up the trial period and requested $$$ for the paid version.. it even has my email address which i registered with a few years back…

all these happen with other kind of programs and antivirus.. i guess the uninstallation does not wipe out some bits of stuffs bitdefender and the others stored on my pc.. btw i’ve tried registry mechanic, auslogics, ccleaner and all kinds of optimizers but nothing works.. the piece of info is still inside somewhere…

Please tell me what to do?? dont ask me to reformat the whole pc…

Ok, can somebody please tell me why I lag on Moparscape, Silab Client, and other private server clients? Here are the steps I’ve taken to try to improve my computer’s performance:

1. Removed unwanted programs.
2. Cleared all of the junk from my drive.
3. Defragged my computer.
4. Scanned and repaired my registry for errors.
5. Installed new Driver/Chip Set.
6. Updated all Windows Programs.

Now, I don’t lag on anything else including Runescape H.D; other programs, Start Up, Downloading/Installing Programs or anything else you could think of. Only on Silab or MoparSo, I don’t really understand what the problem is. I also forgot to mention I’ve downloaded countless "Free" Pc Boosters/Optimizers and tried to make my computer faster/healthier, but none of them seemed to do the trick. I’m also wanting to know if using all of these programs to Clean my Drive, Clear the Registry, and Deleting Files could harm my computer in anyway. Well, please somebody help me.

P.S. I can send you pictures

Major Vista problem(s) (Slow loading)?

Custom computer build:
-Mobo = Asus P5GC-MX/1333
-RAM(OCZ brand) = 2GB DDR2 800 (PC6400)
-HDD 1 (Primary) = 320GB SATA 7200RPM
-HDD 2 (Secondary = 80GB SATA 7200RPM
-CPU = Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.66Ghz ~OC’d 2.76Ghz
-PSU = 550 Watt
-Graphics Card = XFX GeForce 9800GT 512MB DDR3
-OS = Windows Vista Home Premium OEM (SP1 & SP2 & ALL updates) [Installed on HDD 1 Partition 0]

Note: The mobo supports DDR2 533 & DDR2 667 RAM, i took out the 2GB of DDR2 800 and placed 2GB of DDR2 533 RAM and it was as slow if not a little bit slower because of the lower frequency RAM. I also fine tuned Vista to run a lot faster a few months ago and it did! But after i got those 2 BSODs my computer has had very slow loading. And as you can see from my computer build i do not have a very poor or outdated build, in fact my build should not be going this slow because of the good hardware.

Here is the problem(s). About 2 months ago i used a partition program (Partition Magic) to partition HDD1 and when windows restarted to finish the partition it gave me the BSOD. So it restarted again after and then i went to ADVANCED OPTIONS and went back to the last known good configuration. Windows started up just fine after that, and so i decided to give it another go, so i tried to partition the drive with the same program and it did the same thing. I went back to the last known good config. yet again and restarted Windows. Ever since then my computer has been loading very slowly!

It takes my computer about 1 minute to startup, then when i get to the logon screen if i do not start typing my password and i leave the computer to idle it will restart. But after i type my password and press ENTER it will login, but when its logging in it takes about another minute to get past the login screen and shows the desktop. When it gets past the logging in screen loads the desktop and ‘explorer.exe’ very slowly. Im kind of stumped on this issue, i am very good with computers (i have fixed and troubleshooted every problem that i have came across, even fixed friends’ computers.) I have cleaned my HDDs too. Here is everything i have done to try to fix this issue.

————————
-Deleted unused & old files
-Organized my personal folders
-Used Tuneup Utilities 2008 to do the following:
System Optimizer (for best performance)
Delete unnecessary files & backups
-Used CCleaner to clean the following:
[Windows Explorer] = Recent Docs, Run (in start menu), Other Explorer MRUs, Thumbnail Cache
[System] = Temp Files, Clipboard, Mem. Dumps, Chkdsk File Fragments, Win. Log Files, Win. Error Reporting, Start Menu Shortcuts, Desktop Shortcuts
[Advanced] = Menu Order Cache, Tray Notifications Cache, Window Size/Location Cache, User Assist History, Custom Files & Folders
-Emptied Recycle Bin
-Virus/Adware Scan (found nothing)
-Used Registry Mechanic to do a Registry Scan & Repair
-Used O&O Defrag to defrag my HDD(s)
-Check Disk to find bad sectors & attempt to fix them

I also used the Vista Home Premium OEM disc to try to repair any problems it found but it didn’t find any issues wrong with the OS.
————————
I can not reinstall Vista because i have too much stuff that i can lose, out of a total of 400GB i have about 10-20GB free. means i have easily 370GB of stuff

I just watched a movie on it several days ago, and it was working fine. I have an elderly HP Pavilion, with Win-XP. I just purchased a program called "Advanced System Optimizer", and I ran the acanners to clean up my PC, (registry, etc.). Could it have "cleaned out" my DVD player too? How in the world do I get it back? Could someone please help me? I guess I could try a "system restore", but I hate to put all that malware & garbage back into my PC!
Sorry, I meant to say I ran the SCANNERS!

Is 80% Ram usage too much for the laptop?

When I used a program to read how much of my 495 mb sdram is currently being used by the programs i have running in the background of my windows xp.
It showed that about 80% of my ram is currently being occupied by programs running in the background. Is this too much?

My computer is "stucky, not smooth" lately. I’ve checked with spybot and ad-aware there’s no spyware on my laptop. Also ran anti-virus and there’s no virus. I’ve cleaned my harddrive and registry with CCleaner and Ashampoo win optimizer. Lately, happened couple of days, i couldn’t even use my web browers[IE & firefox] to visit any websites! though i know i am connected online with my isp.

Could the 80% ram usage be the source of the problem? Also harddisk is 56Gb in total and now only about 6 gb freespace left. I’m running on Intel M processor 1.6 GHz. win XP sp3. Had the laptop for 6 years.
[side note: system went 'dead froze' several times [about 20? ] over the course of my 6 years usage. whenever that happens i just had to unplugged the power chord to turn off system abruptly without going thru proper ‘ turn off ‘ button in windows. Also had a few very hot summers so laptop couldn’t stand the heat so it auto ‘turned off’ by itself. though now bought the laptop fan cooler. Not sure if these conditions will damage the physical hardware of the system, but i hope it doesn’t…..]

What are your suggestions?
Only answer if you know the answer.
Thankyou very much.
