I am running a Toshiba laptop which was upgraded from VISTA to Win 7. My rig has 2gb of RAM memory, and plenty of HD space.
EVERY SINGLE FUNCTION of Windows, from scrolling down a page to switching tabs in FireFox results in a stalled or slowed reaction screen; NOTHING about my Windows system reacts fast at all! I get a lighter almost white screen if I tap the mouse more than once!
This, despite having defragged, cleaned the Registry file, cleaned start-up programs, etc. Have run various "system optimizers" and other utilities, but still no evident speed-up to "normal!"
What else can I do/where else can I look for better results? It doesn’t matter what programs are running (if any!); all functions are slowed to a crawl!
All suggestions will be greatly appreciated! (I am a computer tech, and am at wits’ end over all this!)

I have uninstalled the yahoo messenger, toolbars and software update thru standard add/remove programs and thru revo uninstaller. Do the Registry Optimizer to clean all registries in my laptop and install the latest yahoo messenger from yahoo website and also to filehippo website but still the same message appears that "we can’t sign you in yahoo! messenger. There might be a problem with your internet connection blah blah blah. Strange isn’t it, I got ADSL and have good connection of internet. Also, using webmessenger.yahoo.com is working fine but i need yahoo messenger app in my laptop and not webmessenger. What do you think is the problem? Please help me resolve this if there is. Thanks
